Conclusion:

We found IBackup to be expensive compared to other online backup services with the lowest plans starting at 10 GB for $9.95 per month. We liked that IBackup offers a “Restore Wizard” that can help you find lost files for an indefinite amount of time, file-sharing capability, and server backup for professional plans. However, IBackup had a couple of cons, such as the lack of a free account and a smartphone app, with their pricing being their biggest deterrent. We found their customer support to be above average.

Using IBackup is as easy as downloading their software and then selecting the folders you want to have backed up. You have the option of setting your backups to be performed continuously or on a schedule. IBackup performs incremental backups, meaning it only backs up new or changed files, which saves bandwidth and keeps future backups from slowing down your computer. They allow you to customize your backup sets so that it will only back up the files you want, such as images, videos, documents, songs, etc. They also let you create different versions of files.

IBackup offers file sharing capability, which allows you to share your files with others. They also offer a “Restore Wizard”, a step-by-step process that helps you restore lost files to their proper place on your computer. They let you go back and restore deleted files for an indefinite amount of time for up to 30 versions. Their service is compatible with both Macs and PCs. IBackup also offers a smartphone app for iPhone.

Professional Options

IBackup offers both business and personal plans, and they let you upgrade from a personal to business plan without having to re-upload your files. They also offer a 15-day free trial of up to 5GB. IBackup’s professional plans have server backup capability that allows you to back up a computer running on a server operating system. IBackup plans range from $14.95 for 15 GB to $399.95 for 400 GB.

We found their customer support, as a whole, to be above average and their phone support to be very helpful. IBackup offers FAQs, but no forums, tutorials or searchable knowledgebase.

IBackup has been around for more than five years and their parent company is Pro Softnet Corporation. It is important to note the reliability of an online backup company to ensure that your files stay safe and secure. IBackup offers 256-bit AES encryption, which changes your data into a form that can only be read by the intended receiver, and a proper decryption key is needed to decipher the message.

Pricing

IBackup offers 10 GB for $9.95 per month, 20 GB for $19.95 per month, 50 GB for $49.95 per month, 100 GB for $99.95 per month, and 300 GB for $299.95 per month. This is more expensive than our Market Standard of 10 cents per GB and is much more expensive than other online backup services. However, if you sign up for a full year of service you can receive two months free on any personal plan. IBackup does not offer a free personal account.
